BOULDER, CO (April 25, 2011) — Griff/SMC, one of the nation's leading medical marketing communications firms and Boulder, Colorado's oldest full-service advertising agency, has been honored with the prestigious Gold Key Award from the Colorado Chapter of the Business Marketing Association (BMA). Now in its 36th year, Griff/SMC has been awarded on multiple occasions by professional organizations for creating successful marketing communications programs on behalf of its medical product and service accounts.

This year, the Agency earned a Gold Key Award in the Publication Advertising category for a full-page ad that was developed for Amedica Corporation in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company manufactures implants and instrumentation used in spine surgery.

The goal of the ad entitled “Are your patients made of plastic?” was to help differentiate the company's proprietary silicon nitride ceramic material from PEEK polymer, the primary competitive material used in spinal implants.

According to Bob Griff, President and Creative Director of the Agency, “After 36 years, our strong suit continues to be the ability to deliver strategic and creative excellence in medical marketing communications.”

The Gold Key Awards is recognized as Colorado's most prestigious competition dedicated solely to business-to-business marketing communications. This year's program had almost 150 entries from Colorado's top B2B businesses and agencies. Entries were reviewed by a panel of six independent judges from across the country representing agency and corporate marketing professionals.
